Things you will need for you new kitten

Food and water dishes.
Your kitten is accustomed to drinking from a water fountain. Fountains are great for encouraging cats to drink, moving water stays fresher and cooler, also the movement often attracts the cats to drink.

Bed - though our cats often prefer the humans beds or the lounge we do have beds on top of the fridge and pantry that the cats enjoy.

Scratching pole - cats scratch to leave their scent, stretch muscles and sharpen claws.
We like multi level cat trees, and have many of various heights from 4ft to ceiling height. We like trees from Deals Direct, they also have many other cat products http://www.dealsdirect.com.au/c/pet-supplies/cat-supplies/ or Ebay can be a great place to find a bargain.

Litter tray - we use Breeders Choice and OzPet litter. Breeders Choice is available at supermarkets and pet shops, OzPet is available via free home delivery - contact us for details or check the website http://www.oz-pet.net.au/

Toys - Favourites are DaBird, Laser pointer, feather wands and furry mice.

Ocicat care
Feeding
Your kitten will be fed a diet of raw meat, chicken necks/wings (always raw NEVER feed cooked bones), good quality tinned food and quality dry food.
We like to feed 2-3 meals of raw or wet food, with dry food and water left out at all times.

Grooming
Ocicats are very easy to care for, their short coats require just a quick brush once a week or so. We like to use a fine tooth flea comb.
Rubbing with a  silk scarf or chamois will help bring out the shine in your Oci’s coat.

Nail care
Nails should be trimmed every week or two, you kitten will have their nails trimmed by us from an early age and with time should learn to sit nicely while you work. There are several types of nail clippers available, one is not better than the other - use what works for you.
Directions on how to clip nails can be found here
