The health of our Ocicats is very important to us at Zayenah Cattery, especially since Tritrichomonas Foetus (a parasite that causes diarrhoea in kittens & adult cats), and also Giardia was found and reported at another cattery in Victoria by Dr R. Gowan BVSc (Hons) MACVSc (Feline Medicine) CMAVA from "The Cat Clinic".

We at Zayenah have decided to set ourselves apart from other breeders of Ocicats, so we have tested our Ocicats to ensure they are all negative for this parasite, and therefore will not cause new owners any unnecessary veterinary expenses to have their kittens treated for these conditions, which can be very costly.
We are very proud to be able to state that Zayenah Ocicat Cattery is a Tritrichomonas & Giardia free establishment.
There are also 2 inherited conditions coming from Abyssinians called Pyruvate Kinase Deficiency (PK-Def) (Anemia) and Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA) (blindness).
