The waiting list is the best way to secure an Ocicat kitten, Ocicats are rare and a waiting list ensures you will get the next available kitten of your colour/sex choice.
Kittens are offered in order of the waiting list, should you choose not to take a kitten at that time you will remain on the waiting list for future litters retaining your position on the list.
